What is the Medicare Star Rating?

Star Rating

Viva Medicare received 4½ Stars for plan year 2026! 1

More Stars, Higher Quality

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses a 1-5 Star Rating system to show how well a Medicare Advantage plan performs for the people on the plan. The higher the Star Rating, the better a plan does at serving its members and ensuring they get the best care possible.

Why should the quality rating matter to you?

Viva Medicare takes pride in providing quality care to our members. We are a quality-focused health plan, but we need to be able to prove it with an excellent overall Star Rating. A high Star Rating allows us to offer better benefits and keep our copays low while providing you with access to excellent doctors and facilities. Viva Medicare's high star rating allows us to offer benefits like:

  • $0 monthly premiums
  • $0 Primary Care Provider Visits
  • Generic Drugs Starting at $0
  • Dental, Vision, and Hearing Benefits
  • and more!

What can you do to help Viva Medicare quality rating?

Here are some things our members can do to help keep Viva Medicare's Star Rating high:

  • Complete your HRA.

All new members are asked to complete a Health Risk Assessment (HRA). This is usually completed over the phone and takes about 15 minutes of your time. It helps us get to know you and your health needs.

  • Take your drugs and fill your prescription drugs on time.

It is important for you to take your drugs the way your doctor tells you to, especially if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol. If you have questions about your drugs, ask your doctor or pharmacist or ask us here at Viva Medicare. We’re here to help.

  • Get your preventive services.

Make sure to get your flu shot, eye exam, and other preventive services like mammograms, colorectal screenings, and cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar checks.

  • Complete your member satisfaction survey.

High member satisfaction is the key to our success. We send out a member satisfaction survey to a sample of members every spring, and we want to know how we’re doing. If you get a member satisfaction survey, please fill it out. Your answers on the survey will not affect your eligibility with any government program or Viva Medicare.
